PASSENGER Returns To North America For Long Awaited Headline Tour With Support From Old Sea Brigade
March 2, 2022 BY Bailey Vigliaturo
With an authentic and engaging live show that has won over scores of fans and critics around the globe and allowed him to headline some of the world’s most famous stages, Passenger is thrilled to finally be back on the road touring in support of his critically acclaimed 2021 album, Songs For The Drunk And Broken Hearted. The tour starts in New York on April 18th at Town Hall and wraps in Los Angeles on May 6 at Cathedral Sanctuary, with Old Sea Brigade supporting. North American dates are listed below; for the full world tour and tickets, visit Passenger’s website here.
Though he was unable to tour due to the global pandemic, Passenger connected with fans via his weekly Isolation Live Streams, which is where he introduced what would become the album’s break-out single, “Sword from the Stone.” He performed the song for Jimmy Kimmel Live! and for The Late Show with Stephen Colbert’s #PlayAtHome series. He also released the special single version, “Sword from the Stone (Gingerbread Mix),” produced by Ed Sheeran and Joe Rubel, who“transform the airy original with some extra punch in the piano, shuffle in the drums and other atmospheric touches that lend the song a pop sheen without sacrificing any feeling from the original” (Rolling Stone).
Hailing from Brighton, England, Passenger is a multi-award winning, platinum-selling singer-songwriter. Although still known for his busking, he long ago made the journey from street corners to stadiums, thanks in part to supporting his good mate Ed Sheeran, and most notably with “Let Her Go,” which reached # 1 in 19 countries, is approaching 3 billion plays on YouTube and is the #3 most Shazamed song of all time. Yet ‘Let Her Go’ is just one song from a remarkable and prolific back catalogue, including 2016’s Young as the Morning, Old as the Sea, which topped the charts in the UK and beyond. Rosenberg has over 2 billion combined streams on Spotify alone. He has previously appeared on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, Jimmy Kimmel Live!, The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, Conan, TODAY and Live with Kelly and Ryan.
